Indie vtuber Dokibird has reached 2 milestones as of yesterday & today where she gained over 100k subscribers on Youtube with her only being at 10k as of yesterday morning.
By this point, it comes to no surprise that Dokibird is the indie identity of Selen Tatsuki whom was unceremoniously terminated from Nijisanji as of yesterday morning.
On a light hearted yet funny turn of events and out of spite, twitter @Grxit was humorously quick to point out that Dokibird will finally get to keep her Youtube play button plaque. For a bit of context and for those who didn’t know, Nijisanji doesn’t allow their talents to get their Youtube play buttons (I guess, unless they cough up the money and pay for it themselves) but instead takes them to show off at the company itself.
Dokibird has since received an overflow of support from fans following her termination, many of which attributing the current behavior of Nijisanji for the termination and the events leading up to it which also includes the following:
- Taking down the animated music video “Last Cup of Coffee” in which Selen paid out of pocket for
- Punishing Selen for taking the initiative to organize a cross-regional Apex Legends event
- Forbidding Selen from awarding a cash prize to winners in a fanart contest
- and more
