2024 is only 5 days in the year and we’re already starting with some bad news in the EN Vtuber scene. At 7AM CST, Nijisanji EN official X account (formally known as Twitter) has made a press release announcing the graduation of their EN talent Pomu Rainpuff which will be held on January 20, 2024.

As stated in the press release, all of Pomu’s activities, Youtube & X account, & sells of merchandise will cease as of her graduation date (still baffles us to this day as to why Nijisanji always privates their talents Youtube accounts rather then leaving them up to archive for future viewing). Pomu would later in the morning go to stream and give reasons as to why she’s graduating.
Pomu Rainpuff was one of 3 talents introduced in in the first wave of Nijisanji EN talents called “Lazulight” with her other 2 genmates Elira Pendora & Finana Ryugu with whom all debuted on May 16, 2021. Her graduation follows just a week after the graduation of Nijisanji ID talent Mika Melatika. We here at Anime Toshokan wish Pomu the best of luck on her future endeavors and hope to see her again.

I’m not going to make it a habit of typing a rant at the end of a graduation anonuncement but because this is Nijisanji, I have to talk about this. I’ll be honest, as a company, I simply don’t like Nijisanji. I have nothing but respect & love for the talents but I feel they are held back by their own management…a good case being with Selen Tatsuki and everything she wanted to do last year. With that being said, I have some hopes for Pomu after her graduation. As she states, she will continue on with content creation, but we simply don’t know what persona she’ll carry after this. I’m going to speculate and give my hopes on what I would like to happen. As most people in the scene are probably thinking like me, she’ll probably get scouted by VShojo just like how K9Kuro & MataraKan did when they graduated from Nijisanji EN (If you know, you know….it’s not a secret as to who they were at Nijisanji). This is the biggest hope I have, at least. This would mean that she could collab as much as she wants with her friend Takanashi Kiara from Hololive EN – Myth –.
I’m going to say this now also, I’m not going to be shocked if I hear about a graduation from Selen Tatsuki sometime after this.
